ENTRIES WILL OPEN ON 1ST JULY

Zhik Youth Sail ACT is being introduced to the Youth Sail schedule for the first time in 2026!
Youth Sail are exciting youth regattas, bringing together Junior and Youth sailors from across Australia, for training, development and championship racing. Zhik Youth Sail ACT is focused on growing participation in Junior and Youth classes, developing the skills of sailors, fostering social connection, and building friendship and community among our youth community. The regatta is open to sailors under 23 years of age sailing in youth classes.

Held on the picturesque waters of Lake Burley Griffin, Zhik Youth Sail ACT will be a combined coaching clinic and 2026 ACT Youth Championship regatta. The schedule will include coaching and racing each day, led by qualified Australian Sailing Coaches.

Green Fleet

The Green Fleet program targets sailors who have recently completed a Tackers 3 Learn to sail program or equivalent. The focus is on having fun and learning new skills as an introduction to racing, conducted by qualified instructors/foundation coaches and is an ideal way to participate in your first regatta.

Green Fleet will not have formal racing, the program will focus on participation and the sailors will have the opportunity to experience activities such as; destination sails, developing skills and confidence on the water in a noncompetitive environment.

Green fleet will be led by experienced Australian Sailing coaches.

Olympian Guest Speaker

Rhiannan Brown Paris Olympian in the Nacra 17 Class, will share her personal sailing story and her experiences competing at the highest level. You can read more about Rhiannon HERE

Prize winners will receive generous gift vouchers from major event sponsor Zhik.

Spirit of S.A.I.L.I.N.G. Award

Australian Sailing is proud to announce the launch of the new Spirit of S.A.I.L.I.N.G. Award, a values-based recognition program that will be presented at all Zhik Youth Sail events.

The Spirit of S.A.I.L.I.N.G. Award celebrates youth sailors who demonstrate outstanding character both on and off the water, recognising not just how they race, but how they treat others, respond to challenges, and contribute to the sailing community. This year we thank our long standing sponsor in Ronstan for providing their Clearstart watches as prizes across the events. More information about the award can be found here. There will be posters dispayed at the event with a QR code linked to the voting form.
