Youth Sail WA

 

Mounts Bay Sailing Club will again host this event, with their fabulous hospitality, ample beach space and the sheltered waters of Matilda Bay.

The coaching clinic and regatta are open to all junior and youth classes. Youth Sail is focussed on growing participation in junior and youth classes, increasing sailors’ skills, fostering social connection, and building friendship and community between our youth sailors.

Westsail Coaching Clinic

The 4 day coaching clinic (Westsail) on Saturday 21st to Tuesday 24th September, is run by Australian Sailing qualified coaches and includes -

  • Dinner on Sunday evening for the sailors and a Q&A with Olympic sailors.
  • Lunch time Monday - A presentation by Dr Sach Fulton who will speak on Peak Preparation.

Meet the Olympians

On Sunday 22nd Sept, all sailors registered for the clinic are invited to a free dinner and to meet Olympians Matt Wearn, Nia Jerwood and Conor Nicholas who will take part in a Q&A session. Parents, friends and non-sailing siblings can buy dinner on the night.

 

Green Fleet Clinic

The 3 day Green fleet coaching clinic on Saturday 21st to Monday 23rd September, is targeted towards sailors who have recently completed a Tackers 3 learn to sail program or equivalent. The focus is around having fun and learning new skills. The Green fleet clinic is open to these classes - Optimist, Open Skiff, Pelican and Minnow. There is no green fleet racing in the WA Youth Championships.

WA Youth Championships

Put your skills to the test in the 2 day Youth Championship regatta on Wednesday 25th & Thursday 26th September, with some amazing prizes to be won from our sponsors - generous gift vouchers from Zhik and Optimum Time sailing watches from ESP.
