Overview

Australian Sailing (AS) invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for class-specific coaching roles within the 2027 AS National Youth Squad program.

These roles will focus on delivering domestic coaching and supporting youth sailors at an age- and stage-appropriate level. The program emphasises long-term growth, sailor-led development, and the formation of positive performance habits within a connected and supportive coaching environment.

Coaching the AS National Youth Squad is an opportunity to help guide and support young sailors as they develop the technical skills, mindset, and self-awareness for long-term participation in the sport.

Youth Squad Coach Role

Led by the Youth Pathways Head Coach, each Youth Pathway Class will have an appointed Youth Squad Coach responsible for leading class-specific technical coaching activities and supporting the ongoing development of selected sailors.

Youth Squad Coaches will work closely with sailors, Class Associations, club coaches and Australian Sailing staff to ensure alignment, consistency and progression through the Youth Pathway.

Australian Sailing Performance Pathway staff may also attend selected activities to support both sailor and coach development.
