Youth Sail QLD

The 2024 Zhik Youth Sail Queensland event includes a three day coaching camp with Queenslands top coaches followed by the three day Queensland Youth Championships.

Keppel Bay Sailing Club in Yeppoon will host this year's event from Monday 16th to Saturday 21st September.  Accommodation always books out quickly for this event so if you are planning to attend, book your accommodation today!

The coaching clinic and regatta are open to all Australian Saling affiliated junior and youth classes and includes a Green Fleet division held at the safe sheltered waters of the Causeway Lake.

The 3 day coaching clinic is run by Australian Sailing qualified coaches and include a guest speaker presentation - this year we may have Olympic sailors attending the event as well!

Put your skills to the test in the 3 day Youth Championship regatta, with some amazing prizes to be won from our sponsors - generous gift vouchers from Zhik and Optimum Time sailing watches from ESP.

The Green fleet program is targeted towards sailors who have recently completed a Tackers 3 learn to sail program or equivalent. The focus is around having fun and learning new skills as an introduction to racing. It is composed of a 3-day training camp followed by a 3-day regatta conducted by qualified instructors/foundation coaches and is an ideal way to participate in your first regatta.

Youth Sail is focussed on growing participation in junior and youth classes, increasing sailors’ skills, fostering social connection, and building friendship and community between our youth sailors.
