Australian Sailing Performance Pathways – 2022 Strategic Update

To ensure young sailors gain access to the best support as they progress through their sailing pathway, Australian Sailing continues to evolve its Performance Pathway which outlines progression from competitive club sailing to the Australian Sailing Team.

National Youth Camp hosts Australia’s up and coming youth sailors

Following the Victorian Youth Championships, Australian Sailing has brought together Australia’s up and coming youth sailors for the National Youth Camp. The four-day camp, is designed to bring together Australia’s future sailors with a team of highly-experienced coaches to support the development of these young sailors as they prepare for competition and look to progress in their sport.

Youth Sail VIC Finishes with a Flurry

The 2022 Youth Sail VIC finished with a flurry on Port Phillip this week, as Australia’s finest young sailing talent battling it out and places on the Australian Sailing Youth Team (ASYT).

The Notice of Race has been released for Youth Sail VIC, which is quickly approaching, and registrations are open. Youth Sail VIC includes a two day Coaching Clinic (April 14 – 15) followed by the Vic Youth Championship (April 16 – 19) hosted by Royal Yacht Club of Victoria.

National Youth Camp - April 20 - 23, 2022

Australian Sailing is excited to announce the inclusion of a National youth camp shortly after the completion of Youth Sail Victoria. The Vic Youth Champs event will act as the selection event for the Australian Youth World’s team for 2022 and the National Youth Camp sailors.

Youth World Sailing Championship – iQFOil Youth

Following World Sailing’s announcement that the iQFOiL Youth (85 wide) will be the official equipment of the Youth Sailing World Championships from 2022, Australian Sailing will recognise class for selecting windfoil athletes to the Australian Youth Sailing Team in 2022, as well as for State and Futures programs.

SailGP Inspire: Can you imagine flying at high speeds above the waters of Sydney Harbour?

SailGP is adrenaline-fueled racing as eight national teams led by the sports’ best athletes go head to head in supercharged and high-tech F50 catamarans for a winner-takes-all $1 million prize. Judging by the first six events of the SailGP Season 2, we can expect nothing but sheer emotion and drama as we welcome SailGP to Sydney Harbour on 17 and 18 December 2021.
